Bruno Dayan

In the same way that Helmut Newton and Dali, captured the eye of plenty of audiences, Bruno Dayan captured mine. The first time I discovered his pictures, I nearly fell out of my chair of amazement!

His photographs are SEXY-WITTY-WHIMSICAL-PROVOCATIVE-AND-BREATHTAKING!

Craft Time! Award Ribbons
So… I decided to decorate my booth (both for the NY and Vegas showings) to be on the quirky side.
But regardless, those of you who know me, that is what I live for! Create, Make and Craft! I have been collecting vintage ribbons, hankies, and fabrics since I was seven! So as you can imagine, I have boxes and boxes and boxes full of these wonderful delectables! Thus, as the time came to start my project, I definitely had lots to choose from.
Here is how I made my “Award Ribbons!”
This is what you need:
1. Ribbons-all colors and sizes; preferably grosgrain or petersham.
2. Big Button Kit (found at any sewing store)
3. Embroidery Hoop
4. 6”x 6” solid fabric squares (Silk dipioni is my preference)
5. Embroidery needle
6. Glue gun and glue sticks
7. Embroidery thread/yarn
8. Sewing machine
9. Iron
10. Felt
11. Safety pins
You start by pleating the ribbons you want to use on the sewing machine first, then you iron out; carefully folding the pleats straight. The second step, you draw out the number you want to embroider unto the solid fabric, then you use your embroidery loop to help you embroider the number/s. Third, you cut out a circle, then you wrap it around your button carefully placing all sides of the fabric inside, where you will then seal the button shut in the back with the back closure that it comes with. Then, you will turn on your glue gun and grab your ribbon and carefully add glue on the back of the button on the edge and little by little attach the pleated ribbon all around the button by curving the ribbon in an adding some extra room, so that the pleats will stay flat on the button. After that, then you repeat with another color-pleated ribbon and attach a round felt to the back and finally you can either sew or pin the safety pin to the back!
Voila! You have made the most fabulous award ribbons to use to either complete a gift, display it inside a shadow box paired with your baby’s first, second, or third year outfits or pictures. Sky’s the limit! They are so enticing; you would want to use them in so many ways!

LULU'S
It is with great pleasure today that I announce the launch of my new blog! It excites me to know that through this forum, I will be able to share with you my inspirations, my dreams, my trips, and news!
Today's topic features one of my favorite boutiques:
LULU'S
LuLu’s in Manhattan Beach, California offers the ultimate in lingerie, loungewear, jewelry, shoes, chocolates, exquisite perfumes, apothecary, and many more wonderful goodies!
The buyer; Kathy Rodarte and a long time dear friend of mine, has an incredible eye for the unique, quirky, and the European.
From the minute you walk into LuLu’s, you get an overwhelming sense of inspiration and delight! The fine details put into place, separates this boutique from the rest. Starting with the antique furniture that is used to display the merchandise, to the shelves that are filled with wonderful smelling candles. LuLu’s is definitely every woman’s dream come true!
This boutique not only carries an amazing selection of Wendy Glez, but most of my favorite lines from John Derian decoupage plates from NY, Sigerson Morrison shoes, Calleen Cordero shoes & bags, La Perla lingerie, Pepita hand-made jewelry from Italy, Dusica Dusica shoes from Italy, and the hard-to-find Santa Maria Novella apothecary products from Florence. Lulu's definitely raises the bar for their wide selection.
As I enjoyed a nice little stroll into LuLu's the other day, I came across DeAnn English; the assistant manager to the store, she mentioned that Wendy Glez is their best selling line amongst their clientele. This of course brought a huge smile to my face, you can visit LuLu’s and my line at:
